The Location:

We have implemented a flexible working arrangement. The successful candidate can choose to work from home or in our co-working space in Etobicoke. An in-office presence is required periodically for training and other events.

QA Analyst

The Role:

We are seeking 2 highly motivated Quality Assurance Analysts (One on the Claims focused Agile Scrum Team and the other will be on another Specialized Scrum Team) to continuously improve our software product by ensuring highest standards of quality, reliability, performance and stability. Working on a focused Agile Scrum team, you will work with Business Analysts and Developers to review and refine requirements, build, and execute test cases and liaise with the Automated Test Team to automate test cases. You will help to further define and improve our quality assurance processes, which we see as an essential part of strengthening and maintaining our competitive edge.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain and execute comprehensive testing strategies
  • Assist in Requirements gathering and Review
  • Define and Execute Black Box tests plans for:
    • New Product Features
    • Product Releases (Major and Minor)
    • Defect Remediation
    • Incoming Production Issues
    • Regression Testing
  • Document New Features and Updates
  • Contributing to continued improvements of QA processes to ensure a high level of software quality
  • Communicate and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure features meet requirements
  • Maintain testing metrics and reports to measure quality and identify areas for improvement
  • Complete tasks according to project timelines/schedules
  • Flexibility with schedule required to accommodate off hour production releases

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in insurance-related software testing
  • Prior experience at an Insurance Company or at a vendor in the market of policy administration and related fields
  • Solid knowledge of P&C insurance industry workflows and concepts (specifically in the areas of Policy with focus on Claims)
  • A thorough understanding of software testing methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven interpersonal, analytical, attention to detail/strategy and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and set priorities
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium, Appium etc.

 

Nice to have:
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or CSTE or equivalent is a plus
  • INS 21, 22, 23 certifications is a plus
  • Experience with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins and experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS
